11am: Keynote: Bill Thompson: The Future’s Here…
Bill Thompson is a freelance BBC/Guardian journalist, new media pioneer and board member at arts organisation New Writing Partnership and has done extensive work on digital development in the sector. Bill has been working in, on and around the Internet since 1984. He was the founding head of new media at Guardian Newspapers and led the team that built the first Guardian website in 1994.
Bill will help us horizon scan and consider how some of the implications of technological change might inform long term strategic planning and resource allocation. For more information on Bill and his work visit:

12pm: Case Study: James Wooldridge, Ludus Dance
James from
Ludus Dance presents a case study of an arts organisation's journey through digital development. He will outline the organisations journey, the results and the lessons learnt.
A lunch bag will be provided.
2pm: Introduction to Get Immersed!
2.15pm Get Immersed! Workshops and Seminars:
Parallel sessions looking at practical things you can do to turn your organisation into a Web 2.0 organisation. There is a choice of sessions, please choose two.
1. Social networking & mobile networking masterclass
Bring your laptops and your mobiles! CJ Lyon from
PCM Creative will help you get to grips with and immersed in social networking media including nings, Twitter and Qik. Please bring wifi enabled laptops. 25 people maximum per session.
2. Participation masterclass with OurManInside
Digital maverick Christian Payne is:
www.OurManInside.com He will talk about his exploits using the latest social media devices and platforms and give everyone from beginner to expert new ideas about how to get audiences and stakeholders - and even politicians - engaging with you. 50 people maximum per session
3. Digital video for beginners masterclass
If you’ve ever wanted to create digital video, this is the workshop for you.
Lets Go Global, an Internet TV and digital video production company, will give insight into what content might exist in your organisation, and how you might capture and disseminate it! 25 people maximum per session
4. Intellectual Property Advice masterclass
OWN-IT will give an overview of the intellectual property (IP) issues around digital content and some of the solutions. Intellectual property advice from people who know that content and live experience is the business of the arts. 25 people maximum per session
5. Arts Council England Officers’ masterclass
Hannah Rudman reveals, with lessons from the AmbITion project, what supportregularly funded organisations (RFOs) will need when engaging with digital development, and what to expect when the RFOs change. 12 people maximum.
4.30pm: Get Participating! The AmbITion approach to the Digital Opportunity
Hannah Rudman takes you through the methodology used by AmbITion to help develop and deliver successful digital development projects and offers invaluable tips, tricks, case studies and resources.
4.55pm: Question Time & Plenary
The workshop speakers will answer your questions about digital development (we will encourage you to post these questions in advance as well as on the day).
5.15pm: Closing Remarks & Close
Does digital technology spell the end for cultural buildings? Will bricks become obsolete in an age of networked clicks? Or does the rapid adoption of new technology usher in new forms of performance and ways of engaging new audiences who may well be turning from passive consumers of culture into active participants in its creation and distribution.
